Synopsis:
Teresa Hamilton is having a rough year—she’s in love with her big brother’s best friend, but he hasn’t spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing, mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career for good. It’s time for Plan B – college. And maybe a chance to convince Jase that what they have together is real. Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he’s not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend’s incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship. But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him. As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…
I borrowed this from the library and then realized I had purchased the book on kindle because it was on sale last year for $0.99.  So I read the physical book on the bus and outside (since I have the Kindle Fire and it doesn't do well in bright lights) and the ebook at night when I was supposed to be sleeping.

Book two is told from Teresa or Tess as her friends called her and Jase's perspectives.  This is a companion novel  to the first novel, it shares the lives of Tess who is Cam's little sisters and Jase who is Cam's best friend.  You can already see where the conflict is going to come from.  This book talked about positive relationships, getting past ones history, learning to grab the happy moments and sharing yourself with others when you need to.

I totally loved this story especially because I could truly sympathize with Tess' reason for being at school, she's just there bidding time until her knee was better and she can go back to the 'real life' of dancing.  I'm a former gymnast who broke my leg in my senior year of high school, which totally changed the direction of my life and what I was going to study.  Reading a character who was also floundering because the rug got pulled from beneath her made me love her so much more.  And the glimpses of her we had gotten in book 1 mad me totally understand her and her relationship with Cam.

I guessed Jase's secret well before he told.  Only because I'm a suspicious little woman and I just only would believe that it was too convenient.   But the second half of his story?/ Yeah never saw that coming. Yeah I wasn't ready.

This was an amazing story because it dealt with the redemptive power of love, the need to forgive oneself, the complications of relationships and friendships.  I loved how they kept each other real and honest.  I totally got Tess's fears and why she hesitated for so long to say something.  You never really know your reception until you say it and that is a scary moment. Her reaction to the unfolding of events was totally realistic and genuine and I was kinda floored when we got another side of a frenemy.  Jase and Teresa made a lot of sense together and yet they were their own biggest barriers to happiness.

Cam's reactions?? Had me rolling.  he was so not a happy campers, but was totally there for Tess when she needed him.  I loved seeing Cam & Avery and their progress throughout the book and of course the introduction of new characters, the revisit with old characters and I can't wait until we get more from this world.  I loved that in this one Jennifer took the time to have that safe sex discussion that she missed out on with Cam and Avery, I know that it worked with the characters because of one of their fears, but I'm glad she had the discussion.

I was totally addicted and loved how the story progressed and how much emotion was shared,.  I loved that it wasn't perfect, that they were messy and stupid and that they floundered on their way to love and on their way to acceptance.  I read this in like 8 hours.  I loved it and then promptly preordered the newest book and bought the other books which luckily for me were on sale for $1.99 on kindle. Why yes, gimme!!
 ★★★★☆
Happy Reading
