Synopsis:
I picked this one up because I read Adoring Ink also by Carrie, and I was like holy crap hot men in love and sharing their female partner?? GIMMIE. So I bought the whole series cause it was cheaper that way.
I went in with just basic expectations of a hot romance between three people and I semi sorta got that. I was not happy that the erotic scenes between the men kept getting glossed over or happening off screen or we only get small moments of intimacy versus the erotics scenes between all three or when the men are with the female character. I don't know if Carrie was just afraid to write a scene that she believed her readers might be uncomfortable with, or if she just didn't want to write a scene and mess it up and have fans come after her for that, whatever reason almost all their sex scenes were glossed over in vague terms and mentioned as something that happened often in the past.
As a trio they had really good group dynamics because Border was the stronger of the three and kept making sure to check in on everyone. Maya's relationship with Jake just never seemed to line up at the correct time and so they settle for friendship, with lots of tension, but at least they were in each other's lives, until she realizes that Jake might actually be moving on and that scares her into acting on her emotions.
I really loved how she talked about the men going on dates, as well as the three of them going out together. I loved that it wasn't just about the sex bringing them in, as they were a bit older and were all at the point of wanting to settle down. I really enjoyed how Carrie normalized a polyamorous relationship, and yet discussed the unique needs it had.
I liked it, I didn't love it, but would still recommend. Erotic Rating 2.5 Stars. Not a lot of sexy times on screen, but a few intimate moments worth reading.

Synopsis:
The Montgomery Ink series continues with a forbidden love between three friends and a past that they can’t escape. Jake Gallagher knew from the moment he saw Maya that she was the one for him—it had the same breath-taking intensity as when he’d first set eyes on Border. Only life never turns out the way one plans, and now he’s falling for someone else...or at least he thinks he is. Maya Montgomery never should have looked past the friendship she already had. Now that she has, she can’t stop thinking about Jake and what he means to her. When a mysterious stranger from Jake’s past shows up at their door, she’s forced to admit that if she doesn’t take the risk of a lifetime, she’ll regret it for the rest of her days. Border Gentry walked away without a second glance once because of what could happen if he let go, but now he’s back and ready to see what he’s missed. He’s been on the road a long time and has seen things no man should ever see, yet once he rediscovers the broody Jake and meets the inked and fierce Maya, they’re like a balm to his soul and he realizes what path his future should take. It will take more than sizzling chemistry and a heat that never dies for the three of them to overcome their pasts. And when someone from the outside wants to stand in their way, it’s not only their hearts on the line…but also their lives.
